On Friday, August 23 of this year, the scientific dissemination event titled “Growing Healthy: Multidisciplinary Management of Childhood Obesity” took place at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Catholic University of Silva Henríquez (UCSH). The event was organized by the UCSH School of Kinesiology in collaboration with the Chilean Society of Metabolic Kinesiology (SOCHIKIMET).
During the event, which was open to the public, renowned speakers presented on topics related to child health and nutrition, child psychology and eating habits, child nutrition and physical activity, and the benefits of these on cognitive performance, among others.
Additionally, Jorge Ugarte Llanten, a member of the School of Kinesiology and the Erasmus+ CIELO project, delivered a brief presentation on this international effort to improve children’s health, its scope, and development. He highlighted the collaboration and joint work of various universities, both Latin American and European.
This event helped strengthen the dissemination efforts of the project and the message of creating policies and tools to address childhood obesity and mental health.
With this, the dissemination of the project and the message about creating policies and products to work on childhood obesity and mental health are strengthened.
